Hillsborough teen receives scholarship for embodying strong faith, commitment, dedication

The family of the late Sister Mary Dee Ellis, IHM (Servant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary), has established a memorial scholarship at Immaculata High School in Somerville.

The scholarship of $10,000 for a rising Immaculata senior is awarded each spring. To qualify, one must reflect the values and example of Sister Mary Dee, with a particular emphasis on the unique elements of her character. She was recognized for her kindness, compassion, peacefulness, joy, and thoughtfulness, as well as her strong faith commitment, and dedication to service, especially to the poor.

The 2021 recipient of the Sister Mary Dee Ellis, IHM Memorial Scholarship is Lucy Cornyn of Hillsborough.
