A Mercer County Community College student was assaulted and nearly became a victim of a robbery while she was waiting near a parking lot on campus, according to the West Windsor Police Department.
The victim told police that a man approached her from behind, threw her to the ground and demanded money from her in the April 16 incident.
She reportedly got up and told the man that she could get money from her classroom, according to reports.
She walked to the classroom building, followed by the man who allegedly assaulted her, according to reports. She went into the classroom and told her professor about the incident. The professor called the campus Security Department and when the man tried to enter the classroom, he told the man to leave, police reported.
The victim told police that she believed the driver of a newer black Jeep Grand Cherokee may have been involved, because the driver was looking directly at home and did nothing to intervene while she was being assaulted, according to the police report.
