The Township Committee in Middletown has appointed seven individuals to serve as Special Law Enforcement Officers (Class I) in the Middletown Police Department.

Members of the governing body took the action during a recent meeting.

The following individuals were appointed for 2021: Chad Bacek, Anthony Bartolone, Paul Coladonato, Steven Coll, Andreus Kyriakou, David Loccisano and Thomas Stone.

Special Law Enforcement Officers (Class I) are authorized to perform routine traffic detail, spectator control and similar duties. They may be empowered to issue summonses for disorderly persons offenses, but they are not authorized to carry a firearm while on duty.

 

Carolyn Andress of Hazlet is the 2021 recipient of an award presented by the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters (NJAHU). Andress is a vice president of HUB International in Wall Township.

The NJAHU recognized Andress’s achievements and ongoing commitment to the profession, naming her the recipient of the 2021 Louis G. Mattei Achievement Award.

Andress was presented with the award at the NJAHU’s annual golf outing, held this year at the Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township after a virtual annual conference.  She was flanked by previous winners who honored her for “tireless service, sacrifice and dedication.”

“I look forward to continuing to help provide answers as we move into the uncertain and ever-changing future of health care reform,” Andress said in accepting the award.

Andress is currently the chair of the NJAHU Health Insurance Association Political Action Committee and represents NJAHU at the Health Care Quality Institute, according to a press release.

 

David Mordo of Middletown, a compliance specialist at BenefitMall in Red Bank, has been named the 2021 recipient of the New Jersey Association of Health Underwriters’ (NJAHU) Board of Directors Award.

The statewide organization represents licensed health insurance agents, brokers, consultants and benefit professionals in New Jersey who service the health insurance needs of large and small employers as well as individuals, according to a press release.

In his more than 40 years in the industry, Mordo has focused on consulting with brokers as well as with small and large employers in the area of ERISA, HIPAA and PPACA and other employer issues concerning healthcare and health insurance.

His advocacy on behalf of employers has taken him through the halls of Trenton and Washington, D.C., where he regularly speaks with state and federal legislators and regulators, according to the press release.

Mordo currently serves as a regional vice president for Region 2 of NAHU.
