EAST BRUNSWICK–The Township Council adopted an ordinance authorizing the installation of a stop sign at the Sunset and Hilltop boulevards intersection.
The intersection is located near Memorial Elementary School and is in a residential area of the township.
“A resident made a suggestion for it because children walk to school and there are no sidewalks in this section. We reviewed the suggestion and found that the stop sign should help slow down traffic, eliminate any confusion over the existing yield setup … reduce the chance of an accident, all while makings things safer for pedestrians,” East Brunswick Police Lt. Frank Sutter said.
With an unanimous vote, the council approved and adopted the ordinance on June 14 during the council via video conference.
This ordinance will take effect 20 after final passage, adoption, and publication according to law, according to the council.
