Teresa Marie Thompson passed away at age 87 on July 24, 2021. Born and raised in Jersey City, NJ, Teresa was the daughter of Bridget Keady and Patrick Halleran. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Carl Thompson, her brothers Thomas and Francis, and her daughter Barbara. Teresa is survived by her daughter Karen, son Mark and daughter-in-law Susan, grandchildren Christina, Mark, Kevin, and Casey. Teresa loved her extended family including nephews, great nieces and nephews, and long-time friends.
Teresa was a long-time resident of New Jersey. She attended St. Aloysius High School and Fairleigh Dickinson University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After retiring from Unilever in 1990, she enjoyed relaxing years living by the water in Ocean County and traveling to California and Europe, before moving to North Carolina. She returned to the state to Brandywine Assisted Living, for her husband’s care. The family would like to thank the Pennington staff for all their support, especially during 2020, as well as the care given by Penn Medicine Hospice, Princeton Health.
A mass will be held in Teresa’s name at Saint James Roman Catholic Church in Pennington New Jersey. Arrangements are by Wilson Apple Funeral Home, and burial will be private with a Celebration of Life held later in the year.
