National Night Out includes information on substance abuse awareness

North Brunswick Youth Council members and North Brunswick Municipal Alliance Committee (MAC) members joined National Night Out at North Brunswick police headquarters on Aug. 3.

Members of the MAC educated the public on the dangers of driving and drinking. The Fatal Vision impairment simulation goggle is a tool to give residents a dramatic and memorable experience on the dangers associated with alcohol, marijuana and other drug impairments. The purpose of the goggles is to cause the participants the effect of loss balance and dangers related,  especially, to underage drinking.

The MAC remains active during the year with educational programs and special events, offering  information on substance abuse. For more information, contact Lou Ann Benson, director of North Brunswick Parks, Recreation and Community Services and MAC coordinator at 73,2-247-0922 ext. 475
