MILLSTONE – The recreation coordinator in Millstone Township has been appointed to fill several additional part-time positions in the municipality.
During a recent meeting, members of the Township Committee passed a resolution appointing Andrew DeFelice as Millstone Township’s part-time deputy tax collector.
DeFelice is employed as the recreation coordinator for the Millstone Township Recreation Department, a position he has held since 2018. He will continue in that position as he works other part-time jobs in the community.
According to a resolution, the annual salary for the part-time deputy tax collector is $39,200. DeFelice will work with Millstone Township tax collector Elizabeth Kiernan.
Township Committee members also appointed DeFelice as the part-time secretary to the Open Space Preservation Council and to the Agricultural Advisory Council. The annual salary for those positions is $16,800.
According to the municipal website, the Open Space Preservation Council fosters and promotes the preservation of open space in Millstone Township; helps create and disseminate information promoting open space preservation; and assists in obtaining grants for open space preservation.
The members of the Agricultural Advisory Council analyze how Millstone Township can best protect the continuance and preservation of farmland in the municipality; determine existing and future problems facing farmers and the farming community, while recommending reasonable and desirable solutions to the Township Committee; and encourage existing farmers to continue their farms in active operation, according to the municipal website.
