Four candidates for three open seats on the Princeton Public Schools Board of Education will share their views on the issues at a virtual candidates forum on Oct. 6.
The online forum starts at 7 p.m. and can be viewed live at www.Facebook.com/PrincetonTelevision.
It is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of the Princeton Area.
Incumbent school board members Betsy Baglio and Brian McDonald are being challenged by Mara Franceschi and Jeffrey Zhi Yang Liao. The term is for three years.
Baglio, who has lived in Princeton for 10 years, has worked as a public school teacher, K-12 educational consultant and professional developer.
McDonald has lived in Princeton for 26 years. He is an artist and designer, and also donates consulting time to local nonprofit groups that seek guidance in the areas of fundraising, board development, strategy and governance.
Franceschi has lived in Princeton for 11 years. She has worked in the financial services and asset management fields for more than a decade, but has focused on her children and community service since she moved to Princeton.
Liao is an attorney. He moved to Princeton last year.
The candidates forum will follow the League of Women Voters format, which starts with an opening statement from each candidate.
Candidates will field questions posed by by the public that have been emailed in advance to [email protected].
Each candidate will make a closing statement before the hour-long forum wraps up.
