Spitting on a police officer earned a 25-year-old East Windsor resident one charge each of assault on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest after the officer responded to the area of Kipling Lane for a report of persons possibly arguing Oct. 18. The officer found one of the individuals walking on Wyckoff Mills Road and who was discovered to have an outstanding warrant. When the officer attempted to make an arrest on the warrant, the suspect physically resisted and spit on the officer.
A 33-year-old East Brunswick resident who failed to stop at a traffic signal at Route 571 and Route 130, and who failed to stop for a police officer Oct. 17 was charged with eluding, obstructing justice and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle. The driver was also charged with disregarding a traffic light, circumventing a traffic light, obstructing traffic, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, careless driving, driving while suspended and being an unlicensed driver. The East Brunswick Police Department found the suspect at home and placed him under arrest.
A 24-year-old Hamilton resident was charged with shoplifting for taking items worth a combined $598.28 from Walmart on Route 130 Oct. 18. The individual had left the store before police arrived, but a Hightstown Police Department police officer stopped the suspect’s car nearby.
A motor vehicle stop by police for having an obstructed view netted a 35-year-old East Windsor man with charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, obstructed view, failure to dim high beams, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. The driver was stopped by police on Dorchester Drive Oct. 14.
A 52-year-old East Windsor man who was stopped by police on Route 571 at Route 130 after it was discovered that his driver’s license was suspended has been charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving, driving while suspended, being an unlicensed driver and having an uninsured motor vehicle Oct. 15.
A 38-year-old East Windsor man was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, careless driving and failure to maintain lane after he was stopped by police for failing to stay in his lane on Dutch Neck Road near Oak Creek Road Oct. 17.
