Dorothy D. Intravatola, 86, of Monroe Township, passed away on Saturday October 23, 2021, at The Elms of Cranbury.
Known to most as Dottie, Dorothy was born on February 9, 1935, in New York, NY, and lived in Monroe Township her entire life. Dottie graduated from Jamesburg High School in 1952. She married Eugene Intravatola in the Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg four years later. Dottie was a prominent businesswoman in the community. She first opened a dress shop, D’Orgene Fashions, then later Dorothe Interiors, her interior design and decorating shop. For over 50 years, Dorothe Interiors helped create beautiful custom designs for many local homeowners. Outside of her business, she enjoyed spending time at the beach and in the Pocono Mountains, traveling, and cooking for large holiday gatherings with her family and friends. A lifelong animal lover, Dottie also rescued and rehabilitated many dogs and cats.
Predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Anne DiBrizzi; her husband, Eugene Intravatola; and her siblings, John Hermansen, Fran Hermansen, Anita Martin, Norman DiBrizzi and A. Charles DiBrizzi; she is survived by and will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey S. and Lisa Intravatola; her granddaughter and grandson, Alexandria and Jeffrey E. Intravatola; her sister, Sandra Cain, and her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation will be held privately at Dottie’s request.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dottie’s memory to the Presbyterian Church of Jamesburg, 175 Gatzmer Ave., Jamesburg, NJ 08831.
