The Borough Council in Eatontown has entered into a shared services agreement with Shrewsbury Township to provide emergent fire protection services.
During a recent meeting, council members authorized the shared services agreement. Through the agreement, Eatontown will provide emergent fire protection services to Shrewsbury Township for a one-year period beginning Jan. 1, 2022.
According to a resolution, Eatontown will charge Shrewsbury Township an annual rate of $10,000. The resolution states the council members believe the agreement is in the best interest of the borough and its residents because it provides for economic use of Eatontown’s emergent fire facilities, personnel and services.
In other business, the council members authorized ARH Associates, Hammonton, to perform engineering services in connection with the survey and design of a Downtown Eatontown Greenway project at Wampum Park, West Street. The firm will provide the services for the first two phases of the project. ARH Associates will be paid $70,000 for its services, according to a resolution.
