ABC will air a special early premiere of its new comedy series Abbott Elementary on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, ahead of its regular scheduled debut on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. This workplace comedy follows a group of dedicated, passionate teachers and a slightly tone-deaf principal, as they navigate the Philadelphia public school system. Despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life, and though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do, even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children. The series stars Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter and Sheryl Lee Ralph.
The CW will air its all-new special Christmas Around the World Wednesday, Dec. 8, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by Dean Cain and Laura McKenzie, the special showcases how Christmas is celebrated around the world by highlighting traditions from the ancient to modern day, including what various cultures eat for Christmas dinner. Viewers will also get a front-row seat to very special Christmas performances.
FOX will air Gordon Ramsay’s Road Trip: European Vacation special on Monday, Dec. 13, from 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT. Judging from his previous road trip, this should be a fun viewing. Gordon will be joined on the trip by Fred Sirieix and Gino D’Acampo.
For the very first time, the 2021 People’s Choice Awards will air simultaneously on both NBC and E! on Tuesday, Dec. 7 from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT. Airing in over 90 countries, this global fan-driven awards show celebrates the year’s best in movies, TV and music coming together for a pop culture celebration. This year there will be 44 categories available for voting, including Top Movie, TV Show & Album, along with Pop Special of the Year and Social Star of 2021. Live from E!: The 2021 People’s Choice Awards will kick off the night with a red carpet special at 7 p.m. ET/PT on E!.
