A Hamilton Township man was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and hindering apprehension after he was stopped for weaving on Route 1 near Farber Road Feb. 27, according to the West Windsor Police Department.
Police were alerted to a possibly intoxicated driver who was randomly stopping in the roadway, according to reports.
During the motor vehicle stop, the police officer reportedly noticed the driver’s face and clothing were covered in blood, according to reports.
The driver allegedly provided the police officer with a false name and said he had been attacked at a party in New Brunswick.
After determining the driver’s true identity, police found the man had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from New Brunswick. He was also allegedly found to be in possession of a baggie containing cocaine, police said.
He was taken to the West Windsor Police Department headquarters to be processed, and then transported to the Middlesex County jail.
