Middlesex College Foundation received recent donations from ITServe Alliance and BAPS Charities.
ITServe Alliance
ITServe Alliance, an organization that represents the interests of small and midsized information technology staffing services, presented a check for $15,000 to the Middlesex College Foundation and the College president Mark McCormick at its meeting in May, according to Thomas Peterson, marketing and communications at Middlesex College.
The program also included a speech by U.S. Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ).
Three Alliance member companies – FinacleSoft Inc., HallMark Global Technologies Inc. and NAM Info Inc. – each funded $5,000 scholarships. Each scholarship will be awarded to one student annually with $2,500 paid in the fall semester and $2,500 in the spring.
The first three scholarships will be awarded in fall 2022.
“We are so grateful to ITServe Alliance companies for supporting our students,” said McCormick said. “Their sense of corporate responsibility is inspiring. I’m also very grateful to Andy Paluri, a member of the Middlesex College Board of Trustees, who connected us with the Alliance.”
The ITServe CSR vision is “empowering local communities through education and training.” Implementing the vision, ITServe provides STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) scholarships to local high school and college students.
BAPS Charities
A walk/run organized by BAPS Charities raised $5,000 for the Middlesex College Foundation on June 5. The walk also raised funds for JFK University Medical Center and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The event, called “In the Joy of Others,” is part of an international effort by BAPS to raise money for their local communities.
“We at Middlesex College are grateful to Praful Raja and the members of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir for their generous support of Middlesex College and our students,” McCormick said. “Ongoing support from the BAPS community to the Middlesex College Foundation and the Middlesex College Community Resource Hub and Food Pantry help make it possible for our students to earn an associate degree and strive for a better life.”
