Janet Moslener, 84

Janet Moslener, 84, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2022 in Severna Park, Maryland. Janet was born on March 23, 1938 in Enon Valley, PA to Arthur and Laura Andrews. She graduated from East Palestine High School in 1956, and Geneva College in 1959. She taught first and second grade in western Pennsylvania and Ohio until she married Carl Moslener in 1965. Janet was a steadfast Navy Wife while Carl completed two combat cruises in Vietnam as a Naval Aviator and continued to teach school in Orange Park, Florida. Carl and Janet had two children,

Carl II and Brandt, and in 1977 settled in Pennington, New Jersey where she was part of the community for over 40 years.

Upon arriving in Pennington, Janet took an active role in the community. In September of 1978, Carl and Janet organized Cub Scout Pack 44 and Janet served as one of the first Den Leaders. She continued to contribute to the community as her children grew as a homeroom Mom, soccer Mom, member of the Welcome Wagon and supporter of Boy Scout Troop 44. She enjoyed gardening and getting her “hands in the dirt.” After many nights memorizing flashcards, she earned a Certificate of Proficiency in Ornamental Horticulture Technology from Mercer County Community College in May of 1988. She eventually went back to her teaching roots and became a tutor for Sylvan Learning Center. She thoroughly enjoyed working with young children and always considered herself a schoolteacher.

Janet was a strong and independent woman who was always up for an adventure. One of her greatest joys was watching her granddaughters develop into strong and independent women as well. She traveled extensively from a young age until recently. Even with young children she was always willing to get on an airplane and meet Carl somewhere as he traveled as an airline pilot for Eastern Airlines.

She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Laura Andrews. She is survived by her sister, Sue Kelley of Youngstown, Ohio, her sons Carl Moslener (Belen Velasco), Brandt (Jennifer) Moslener and her Granddaughters Emily Moslener (John McGuire) and Kate Moslener.

All services and burial will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Blackwell Memorial Home
