When voters in Eatontown, Red Bank, Rumson and Tinton Falls go to the polls on Nov. 8 to elect members of governmental bodies, they will also vote to elect members of their local school boards.
July 25 was the deadline for New Jersey residents to file a nominating petition to run for a seat on a board of education.
Elected school board members in New Jersey serve without compensation.
On the Monmouth Regional High School District Board of Education, which serves Eatontown, Shrewsbury Township and Tinton Falls, one Eatontown seat and two Tinton Falls seats will be on the ballot in their respective municipalities.
In Eatontown, incumbent Mary Anne Linder is running unopposed for a three-year term on the regional school board, according to the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office.
In Tinton Falls, incumbents James Convery and Daniel Deitz are running unopposed for two three-year terms on the regional school board.
The Monmouth Regional High School District Board of Education has five representatives from Tinton Falls; three representatives from Eatontown; and one representative from Shrewsbury Township. The Shrewsbury Township seat is not on the ballot this year.
Also in Eatontown, incumbent board member Nelson Ortiz, and Maysee Jacobs and Daniel Murphy are running unopposed for three three-year terms on the Eatontown Public Schools Board of Education.
Incumbents Virginia East and Lori Flynn are not seeking to retain their seats.
There will also be a one-year unexpired term on the Eatontown ballot. No residents filed to run for that seat and the winner may be elected by write-in votes.
Also in Tinton Falls, the terms of incumbent board members John Livingood, Teena Patel and Christopher Theobald, all of whom represent Tinton Falls, are on the ballot for seats on the Tinton Falls K-8 School District Board of Education.
The four residents seeking the three three-year terms in a contested race are Livingood, Patel, Lora Smith-Staines and Eugenia Tinsely.
Theobald is not seeking to retain his seat on the board.
The Tinton Falls School District serves Shrewsbury Township and Tinton Falls. The board has eight representatives from Tinton Falls and one representative from Shrewsbury Township. The Shrewsbury Township seat is not on the ballot this year.
On the Red Bank Regional High School District Board of Education, three three-year terms and one one-year unexpired term will be on the ballot in Red Bank.
The three three-year terms are being sought by four candidates: incumbents Emily Doherty and John Garofalo, and Adam Cohen and Memome Paden Crystian.
Incumbent W. Scott McBride is running unopposed for the one-year unexpired term.
The Red Bank Regional High School District Board of Education has five representatives from Red Bank; two representatives from Little Silver; and two representatives from Shrewsbury Borough.
The Little Silver and Shrewsbury Borough seats are not on the ballot this year.
Also in Red Bank, incumbents Benedict Forest, Erik Perry and Susan Viscomi are running unopposed for three three-year terms on the Red Bank Borough Public Schools Board of Education.
On the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School District Board of Education, which serves Fair Haven and Rumson, one three-year term in Fair Haven and two three-year terms in Rumson will be on the ballot in their respective municipalities.
In Fair Haven, incumbent Steven Page is running unopposed for the three-year term.
In Rumson, incumbent Katherine Thompson, and Sarah Kiley are running unopposed for the three-year terms.
Incumbent Jane Pattwell is not seeking to retain her seat on the board.
The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School District Board of Education has five representatives from Rumson and four from Fair Haven.
In Rumson, Carolyn DeSena, Lauren Finney and Gillian Sahadi are running unopposed for three three-year terms on the Rumson School District Board of Education.
Incumbents Scott Caldwell, Tara D’Uva and Stacy Izzo are not seeking to retain their seats on the board.
