Police are investigating two burglaries and one attempted burglary at The Mews at Princeton Junction rental apartment complex, according to the West Windsor Police Department.
Police were called to the development on July 29. The victim told police that she heard a noise coming from her living room and when she went to check, she saw a light being shined in through the window. She screamed and slammed the bedroom door shut, police said.
When the victim’s husband went to investigate, he found that a window screen had been ripped from a window frame and an unlocked window was open, police said.
While police were searching the area for suspects, officers found a partially open widow at another apartment. The resident and her friend were standing outside the apartment, police said.
The resident told police that the door chain to her apartment was locked from the inside and she could not get into her apartment. Officers forced their way into the apartment and discovered that it had been ransacked. Several items were missing, police said.
At a third apartment, cuts were found on the sliding door screen and on a window screen, police said. Another window screen had been ripped off the window, but the doors and windows were locked and no entry was made into the apartment, police said.
