The Manalapan Police Department has reported the following incidents which recently occurred in the community:

On Sept. 9, a Colts Neck resident reported that on July 27, a Route 9 business in Manalapan was defrauded in the amount of $98,366. Patrolman Christopher Capuzzo
handled the report and the incident is pending further investigation.

On Sept. 10 at 6:45 a.m., employees of the Manalapan Recreation Center, Route 522, reported that an unknown individual unlawfully gained entry to a utility shed, resulting in approximately $1,000 worth of damage. No items were reported stolen as a result of this incident. Patrolman James Guarino handled the report.

On Sept. 12 at 2:13 a.m., Patrolman James Guarino conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 33 after observing a driver commit motor vehicle violations. The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 25-year-old male resident of Somerset, was found to be driving while intoxicated. The driver was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after being issued summonses.

On Sept. 12 at 9:54 a.m., a Manalapan resident reported that unknown individuals entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle while it was parked at a Tudor Place residence and pulled down a ceiling console, causing approximately $400 worth of damage. No items were reported missing as a result of the incident. Patrolman Jeffrey Emslie took the report.

On Sept. 12 at 1:30 p.m., a Manalapan resident reported that during the last month, unknown individuals cashed $28,326 worth of fraudulent checks in the name of a Union Hill Road business. Patrolman Hayden Hrymack handled the report.

On Sept. 13 at 1 p.m., employees of The Living at Regency at Manalapan, Route 33, reported that sometime during the previous week, unknown individuals removed kitchen
appliances from a home under construction. The appliances are valued at approximately $7,000. Officer Jean Letts took the report.

 

Center Players will explore love, marriage and infidelity as it launches its 2022-23 season with a production of Neil Simon’s “Last of the Red Hot Lovers” at Center Playhouse, 35 South St., Freehold Borough, from Oct. 14-30.

First produced on Broadway in 1969, the play centers around Barney Cashman, a married, middle-aged restaurant owner who wants to be part of the sexual revolution before it passes him by, according to a press release.

Taking advantage of his mother’s empty New York City apartment, he invites various women over for romantic trysts over the course of three afternoons, but his bumbling efforts result in uproarious situations.

The comedy will be directed by Michael Tota (Wall Township), who most recently helmed “California Suite” and “Lend Me a Tenor” at Center Playhouse. Mafalda Cavanaugh (Manalapan), who co-directed “A Year With Frog and Toad” there, serves as assistant director.

The cast includes Michael Gonzalez (Manasquan), Precious Pia (Staten Island, N.Y.), Eileen Anglin (Barneget) and Lisa Vasfailo (Old Bridge). Roberta Fallon (Freehold) is the producer and Denise Warren (Freehold) is the stage manager.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are priced at $26 and $28 and are available online at www.centerplayers.org or by
