Lois Aust, 96, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023 while at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Passaic, NJ, Lois was raised in Hopewell and resided in Princeton with her family for over 45 years. She had been a resident of Hamilton for the past 21 years. She worked as an RN and retired from Carrier Clinic after more than 30 years of service. She was a longtime parishioner of the Church of St. Paul in Princeton and of St. Vincent DePaul Church for the last several years. Throughout her life, Lois loved traveling, was an accomplished knitter, an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was also known to enjoy a glass of Baileys, and she loved her Twizzlers.
Predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret (Roche) Eelman; her husband, Edward J. Aust; son, William G. Aust; sister, Connie Cuomo; and brother, Msgr. William Eelman; she is survived by her son, Thomas Aust and wife Jacqueline; daughters, Jean Watlington and husband Thomas, Peggi Davison and partner, Jim Drager, Barbara Reyes and husband Joe, Susan Berg and husband James, and Judy Van Brunt and husband Rob; daughter-in-law, Deborah (Aust) Pacelli; sister, Margaret Motzenbecker; 12 grandchildren, Kim (Shawn), Kerri (Mike), Matt, Sean (Sarah), Alissa, Michael (Rita), Beth (Glenn), Steven, Tim (Alexandra), Jake, Rachel and Matthew; 14 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and neighbors whose lives she touched.
Family and friends will begin to gather at 10:30am on Friday, March 17, 2023 at
St. Vincent DePaul Church, 555 Yardville-Allentown Road, Yardville and a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00am.
Interment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
