Doris passed away peacefully on May 15 2023 at the age of 94 at Meadow Park Specialty Care Center in St. Helens, Oregon. She was born in 1928 in Trenton, NJ, the daughter of Major Harold Millington and Mary Amanda Abbott. She was a long-time resident of Bordentown Township, NJ.
As a young girl in the depression years, Doris worked many jobs – babysitting, hospital kitchen aide, a soda jerk, and a bakery helper. After graduating high school in 1946, Doris worked at New Jersey Bell Telephone as a long distance operator and then in 1974 as a Police Radio Dispatcher for Bordentown Township, NJ. She retired in 1987 and moved to Oregon with husband Carl. She was a member of the Aloha Rebekah Lodge 253.
Doris was preceded in death by husband Carl in 2005 and son Thomas Rovinsky in 2015. She is survived by daughters Patricia Mackall of Forest Grove, Oregon; Mary Ellen Manning (husband Glenn) of Maryland; Linda Rovinsky (husband Lou) of Trenton, NJ; son William Rovinsky (wife Roseanne) of Cream Ridge, NJ; Carl Traub III of North Carolina; daughter-in-law RoseMarie Rovinsky of Pennsylvania. She is survived by more than 18 grandchildren, over 27 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
Prior to her husband’s death, they traveled all over the United States in their motor home. Doris enjoyed crocheting making many baby blankets for friends and charity and blankets for family members. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends and neighbors.
