An East Windsor Township man was charged with driving while intoxicated after being stopped by Good Samaritans, according to the West Windsor Police Department.
Police officers were dispatched to a report of a crash at the intersection of Old Trenton Road and Edinburg Road at 1:48 a.m. Oct. 3. However, when they arrived, they discovered there was no crash. Good Samaritans had stopped the driver, pulled him out of the Audi sedan he was driving and took the keys away from him, police said.
The Good Samaritans stopped the driver after they observed the man allegedly speeding, improperly passing cars and driving in the wrong lane, police said.
The investigation revealed the man was driving while he was allegedly impaired. He was processed and released.
