Three arrested, one man wanted for assault in park

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – Two men were assaulted at Kingsley Park on New Road just after midnightMay 3, according to a police press release.

Ryan Cleverly, 23, Derek Juarez, 23, Justin Perota, 25, and Jeff Shuke, 25, were charged with assaulting a 20-yearold and a 21-year-old male.

The victims said they went to the park to meet with Perota when they were “jumped.” They were punched, kicked, pistol whipped and knocked to the ground.

Jaurez, Cleverly and Perota were arrested.

Shuke left before the police arrived.

They were each charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, terroristic threats, attempted robbery and being in a park after dark.

An imitation firearm was also found at the scene.

The Kendall Park First Aid Squad was on the scene to treat the victims.

Cleverly, Juarez and Perota were brought to the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center, while Shuke is a wanted fugitive.
