PAL, volunteers at Halloween festivities appreciated

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Police Athletic League and all the volunteers who managed to put forth a successful event at Windward Beach to celebrate Halloween this year. Despite the dreary weather that day, approximately 1,000 parents and children attended and participated in the festivities.

I was disheartened to hear that the festivities at Windward Beach were not as good as the festivities at the Havens Homestead Museum. Since when are we in competition with our township events? Let’s keep the politics out of our town events!

This year, with the help of our local council, we managed to keep the children happy as well as the taxpayers of Brick Township. In the past years, to my knowledge, the price of HalloweenFest cost the taxpayers of Brick Township approximately $35,000. This year our Halloween festivities cost between $6,000 and $8,000, and everyone was happy.

The Republicans are kid-friendly as well as being fiscally responsible so there is no added tax burden incurred by the residents of Brick Township. Thank you to all the volunteers and especially the Police Athletic League who stepped up to the plate and helped to give our little ghosts and goblins of Brick a very memorable Halloween at Windward Beach.

A job well done.
