Louis A. Dermo
Mr. Dermo, 75, of Cream Ridge, died Sept. 1 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold. Born in Plainfield, he had been a resident of Cream Ridge for the past 10 years, coming from Middlesex. He was a retired supervisor with the Harris Steel Co., South Plainfield and was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption, New Egypt. He is survived by his wife, Dolores (DeFazio) Dermo; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Jeff Wedgeworth of Jackson; a sister, Mary Vassallo of Melbourne, Fla. and three grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was held at the Church of the Assumption, New Egypt, with Father Joseph Farrell officiating. Interment was at the BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arnytown. Margaret E. Horsnall
Mrs. Horsnall, 62, of the Cream Ridge section of Upper Freehold, died Sept. 13 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Trenton, she was a member of the Hope Fire Company Ladies’ Auxiliary and the Executive Committee for the Republican Party of the 3rd District of Upper Freehold Township, Monmouth County. She was also a past member of the Allentown First Aid Squad and the Upper Freehold Township Regional School Board. Mrs. Horsnall was predeceased by her parents, Stella and Raymond Bilinski. Surviving are her husband, David W. Horsnall; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori Sue H. and Everett Mount of Cream Ridge; a son, David C. Horsnall of Bordentown; a sister-in-law, Robin L. Horsnall of Lambertville; an aunt and uncle, Mary James Mellodge of Stockton; two nephews; a great-niece; and many cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, Trenton. Interment followed at N. Crosswicks Cemetery, Hamilton. Patrick J. Knapman
Mr. Knapman, D.V.M., 52, of Jackson, died Aug. 28 at home. Born in Detroit, he was a 1977 graduate of Michigan State University. Before opening his equine veterinary practice in the late 1980s, he was head veterinarian for Ringling Brothers Circus and then for Six Flags Great Adventure. He was the veterinarian for many leading standardbred owners and trainers in the area, as well as serving the riding horse community. He was in his third year as president of the New Jersey Equine Practitioners Association, as well as a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association, the Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association, the U.S. Trotting Association and a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association. He also was the veterinary coordinator for the Monmouth County Department of Health, office of emergency management. Surviving are his wife of 14 years, Frances Martin Knapman; his parents, Jack and Patricia Knapman; a sister, Jacki; and brother, Timothy. A memorial service took place at Gaitway Farms, Manalapan. The Rev. Peter Guilfoyle of the Racetrack Chaplaincy of America officiated.
