The Red Bank Humanists (RBH) will host a forum with Meagan Glaser, New Jersey deputy state director for the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA), titled “No More Drug War: Harmful Drug Policies in New Jersey and How We Can Reform Them.” The event will be held Dec. 13 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Red Bank Charter School, 58 Oakland St. The program is open to the public and admission is free.
Glaser’s talk will discuss:
how our state’s ineffective and counterproductive drug policies have increased the harms related to drug use and wasted taxpayer money;
how the Drug Policy Alliance advocates for effective drug policies based on science, compassion, health and human rights; and
how the DPA is working on several advocacy campaigns in New Jersey.
Glaser is a magna cum laude graduate of The College of New Jersey, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in political science, with minors in law and philosophy, and women’s and gender studies. Glaser completed a master’s degree in public affairs and politics at the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. While pursuing her graduate studies, Glaser was awarded a Governor’s Executive Fellowship from the Eagleton Institute of Politics. Through this fellowship, Glaser studied at the Institute and worked in New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine’s Intergovernmental Affairs Office.
