“Finding Hope” topic of addiction recovery meeting

WEST LONG BRANCH – The Family Addiction Network will host a monthly meeting at the West Long Branch Community Center on Nov. 17, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The meeting provides a forum where families and friends can seek support in dealing with addiction in a non-judgmental, compassionate and receptive environment free of charge.

The Nov. 17 meeting will feature presenters Melissa and Michael Skelly, a father and daughter, who find hope in addiction recovery. While there are many paths to recovery, there is one constant-and that is hope, according to the network.

Melissa Skelly will share her experience as a child growing up in an alcoholic home and how her love for her father, positive attitude and hope for a better tomorrow has aided in his recovery. Melissa currently resides and operates a natural wellness center in Ocean Township.

Michael Skelly, of Red Bank, will share his story of the bumpy road of addiction recovery. Michael has been sober for more than four years and has found hope as well as the support of his family central to his recovery process. Michael will share his story of sobriety and a second chance at life.
