In the Borough of Fair Haven, Republican council incumbents Eric Jaeger and Robert Marchese withstood a challenge from Democrat Shervyn von Hoerl for the two seats up for election on the Borough Council.
Jeager drew with 876 votes, while his running mate, Marchese, tallied 834 votes to top von Hoerl’s 621 votes.
In the Borough of Rumson, incumbent Mayor John Ekdahl secured another term with 565 votes to defeat perennial Democratic challenger Michael Steinhorn, who came up short with 294 votes.
Incumbent Republicans Marc Rubin and John Conklin ran unopposed to retain their council seats. Rubin drew 623 votes and Conklin 629 votes.
Sea Bright Mayor Dina Long, who ran as an independent in the Borough of Sea Bright municipal election, secured a second term with 236 votes in the uncontested election.
The Borough Council race was also uncontested and Republican Jack Keeler secured an 11th term with 195 votes and Democrat Marc Leckstein drew 143 votes to secure a second term on council.
In the Borough of Shrewsbury, Republican incumbents Jeff DeSalvo and Donald Eddy also ran unopposed for the two open seats on the Shrewsbury Borough Council. DeSalvo received 487 votes and Eddy received 494 votes.
In the Borough of Tinton Falls, Council President Gary Baldwin, as well as council incumbents NancyAnne Fama and Christopher Pak, also did not face a challenge in the non-partisan election.
Baldwin was the top vote getter with 1,821 votes, while Fama and Pak took in 1,766 and 1,698 votes respectively. Newcomer John Manginelli won election to an unexpired term on council with 1,830 votes.
Results remain unofficial until certified by the Monmouth County Board of Elections.
