The Freedom Fest State Fair, scheduled July 9-12, is taking place at the Horse Park of New Jersey at 626 Route 524, Allentown. All carnival rides, parking and entertainment are free with a paid admission.
Fair hours are 5 p.m. through 10 p.m. July 9, 12 p.m. through 11 p.m. July 10 and 11 and 12 p.m. through 10 p.m. July 12.
The fair will feature horse exhibits at the main arena, music, “The Shark Adventure” with live sharks, a magic and hypnosis show with Lance Gifford, racing pigs, pony and camel rides, a petting farm, agricultural exhibits and more. New Jersey 101.5’s DJ Joe Votruba will swim with the sharks at 8 p.m. on July 10.
Several musicians and bands will provide entertainment. Kim Yarson and the Fleetwood Mac tribute band, Tusk, will perform on July 9.
On July 10, Reverse Order, Meagen and Liz and the Eagles tribute band, Eaglemania, will be on stage.
On July 11, the day will kick off at noon with The River Dogs performing three sets of music from the ’70s and ’80s. Crazy Uncle will perform at 3 p.m. and Reverse Order will follow at 5 p.m. The evening music lineup lists the John Mellencamp tribute band, Human Wheels, at 6:30 p.m. and the headliner, Rock of Ages Band with Constantine Maroulis, at 8 p.m. A fireworks display will be held at 10 p.m.
On July 12, the third annual Southern Rock Fest will feature Southern Steel at 1 p.m., followed by Hall of Fame drummer Artimus Pyle and his tribute band to Lynyrd Skynyrd at 5 p.m. At 7 p.m., the headliner, The Outlaws, will perform.
