LITTLE SILVER — Marisol Mondaca, clinician for Red Bank Regional High School’s The Source youth program, has been honored by the Hispanic Affairs Resource Center.
Mondaca was presented with the “Partner in Youth Development Award” for her work with the Latino teenagers and their families in the greater Red Bank community. Honorees include: Carl DeJura, director of adult education at Brookdale Community College; Allyson Silva, the Cultural Diversity Department of Meridian Health; Julienne Montalvo-Mojica, trauma team, Jersey Shore University Medical Center; and Sheila McAllister-Spooner, assistant professor, public relations director, graduate program,
Monmouth University.
Mondaca, Long Branch, has been The Source’s bilingual clinician since its founding in September 2000. The Source is RBR’s school-based youth services program and provides services to students and their families, including individual, group and family counseling; preventative medical and dental care; academic support; scholarship opportunities, and recreational and cultural events.
As the bilingual clinician,
Mondaca has concentrated on programs and youth counseling with the school’s Latino community.
