On behalf of the children from Red Bank, Asbury Park and Long Branch who are served by Aslan Youth Ministries, I’d like to thank the community for supporting our Island Nights fundraiser so wholeheartedly.
Thanks to the contributions of sponsors and attendees, Island Nights was very successful — generating more than $20,000 for children in need.

Bill and Beverly Van Winkle offered us their beautiful home for Island Nights, while Stuart Van Winkle and the Shrewsbury Sailing and Yacht Club arranged the sunset sailing that we provided to our guests.
Our Island Nights volunteers are to be commended for their unwavering commitment to the event. The event chairperson, Jack Buckman, and committee members Janice Attardi, Elaine Basile, Risa Bertodatti, Lynn Ann Bogard, Chip and Meg Buckman, Mary Buckman, Tom and Christian Buckman, Erin Curtis, Kathryn Eagles, Herb and Pat Geiss, Mike Klus, John Oksen, Candy Pellechio, Bill and Betty Reuter, Kathy Rose, Maureen Rose, Andrea Wigington, Bill and Beverly Van Winkle, and Stu Van Winkle ensured that thousands of dollars would be raised for Aslan Youth Ministries’ sustenance of disadvantaged children. Aslan would also like to thank Linda and Peter Franco and Joe and Tara Cassidy for all of their help with this event.
Aslan Youth Ministries offers relationship based programs that impact the bodies, minds and spirits of disadvantaged urban children and empower them to overcome their negative circumstances. Thanks to the steadfast support of our community, Aslan Youth Ministries can provide mentoring and tutoring, character development classes, recreational activities, summer camps, cultural enrichment, intervention services, and college scholarships in Monmouth County as we expand our mission in L’Acajou, Haiti.
