RED BANK — The Curchin Group, LLC, a mid-sized, full-service accounting firm, announced that Lunch Break and the Monmouth Day Care Center, two locally based nonprofit organizations, will receive all proceeds from the firm’s annual indoor miniature golf tournament, The Curchin Open, which is scheduled from 4-7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the firm’s Red Bank office.
Located in Red Bank, Lunch Break was founded in 1983 to address the issue of hunger in Monmouth County, developing a vision to lead the region as the comprehensive food, nutrition and life skills resource for community members in need. Initially serving hot lunches, it expanded its services to provide groceries to families and eventually moved to its current facility. To find out more about Lunch Break, visit www.lunchbreak.org.
“We are delighted to have been selected by Curchin as a beneficiary of their mini golf tournament,” said Lunch Break’s Director of Development Kate McMahon, CFRE, in a press release. “The funds raised will allow Lunch Break to continue to provide help for today and hope for tomorrow and, equally important, enable us to sustain hope for thousands of families in need. We are very grateful.”
The Monmouth Day Care Center, also in Red Bank, was established in 1969 as a non-profit organization. Today, it serves children from 2 months to 5 years in age from families with diverse socio-economic backgrounds, providing various avenues of tuition assistance to those in need. “We are thrilled that the Curchin Group chose Monmouth Day Care Center as one of the beneficiaries of their annual mini golf tournament,” said Heidi Zaentz, executive director of the Monmouth Day Care Center, in the press release. “The funds donated to Monmouth Day Care Center will make it possible for us to continue to provide a quality early childhood program to the families of the greater Red Bank community. We are thankful for The Curchin Group’s support.”
Last year, with the support of almost 40 corporate and individual sponsors and dozens of participants, the ninth annual Curchin Open raised $15,000 for The Samaritan Center at the Jersey Shore in Manasquan and HABcore Inc. in Red Bank. Since the event started in 2005, the firm has raised more than $120,000.
