The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts at Red Bank Regional High School, Hance Avenue, Little Silver, will present "Opera Festival 2004" series January through March, beginning with a performance by RBR vocalists Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
A "Faculty & Friends Recital" will be presented Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. and will feature music faculty and local music teachers performing classical hits.
"Opera Scenes" will be performed by members of Pacific Encore Performances and RBR students Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
The Monmouth Conservatory Children’s Opera Chorus and Jersey Shore Youth Opera will perform a concert Feb. 29 at 4 p.m.
The New Jersey Music Educators Association will present the "All-State Opera Festival Concert" March 6 at 3 p.m.
Tickets range from $5-$15.
The high school will also hold auditions for "Les Miserables" Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. Needed are children ages 8-12 to portray young Cosette, young Eponine, Gavroche and chorus children. Performances are slated for April 30 and May 1 and 2.
