The Guild of Creative Art, 620 Broad St., Shrewsbury, will present the works of five photographers at a show Feb. 2-27. An opening reception will be 3-5 p.m. Feb. 3.
Two of the photographers are local. Dankwart Koehler is a Holmdel resident, and Claire Kipnis hails from the Wayside section of Tinton Falls.
Koehler is the founder and first president of the Monmouth Camera Club and lectures throughout the state. His photographic interests range from color to black-and-white, and from nature to architecture to the human figure. He often uses a single form of life, ranging from a tiny mushroom to a vividly colored bird.
Kipnis’ photos, which she develops and prints herself, are primarily black-and-white, and hand-colored infrared photos. Her works to be displayed are a retrospect from the 1990s-2001.
Works by Long Branch artist Leah McCloskey will be on display in the front gallery. McCloskey’s pastels include seascapes, florals and architectural images.
Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday from noon-4:30 p.m. All shows and openings are free and open to the public. For more information, call Vicki at the guild at (732) 741-1441.
