Mr. Vermilyea, 78, of Shrewsbury, died May 16, 2009, at home. He was a mechanic at Nestlé, Freehold, retiring 15 years ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Vermilyea, in 2001; and a daughter, Michelle Smith, in 2008. He is survived by two sons, Gregory Vermilyea of Shrewsbury, and Joseph Vermilyea of Pennsylvania; five daughters, Patricia Jobes of North Carolina, Lynn Caltagirone and Valerie Bollettieri, both of Virginia, Christine Lawrence of Wall, and Marie Vermilyea of California; three brothers, Bill Vermilyea, Ted Vermilyea and John Wrenn, all of New York; 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St Michael’s Church, West End section of Long Branch. Arrangements were by Damiano Funeral Home, Long Branch.
