Parks to offer equestrian program, open house
The Monmouth County Park System will offer “Equine First Aid and Emergency Care” as part of its equestrian lecture series May 20 from 1-2:30 p.m. at Huber Woods Park, Brown’s Dock Road, Locust section of Middletown.
Cost is $20 per person. The program will teach when to call the vet and what to do while waiting for the vet to arrive, and how to identify and care for common wounds that do not need professional care.
An open house will be held June 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Deep Cut Gardens, Red Hill Road, Middletown. The free event will feature demonstrations, children’s activities, and displays. Attendees may also tour the gardens.
