Ann M. (Baker) Talkowski

Mrs. Talkowski, 68, of Millstone, died Oct. 28 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. Born in Hazelton, Pa., she had lived most of her life in Millstone. After 15 years of service, she retired from Midlantic Bank (now PNC Bank), East Windsor, as a bank teller. She was predeceased in 2000 by her husband, Robert E. Talkowski. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Tom Pasquito of Millstone; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. Jr. and Dawn M. Talkowski of Cape Coral, Fla.; a brother, William Baker of St. Augustine, Fla.; a sister, Bette Evans of Hazelton; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation was private, followed by a memorial service at Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, Hightstown. Marion M. McCarthy-Sexton

Mrs. McCarthy-Sexton, 92, of Bordentown, died Oct. 26. She grew up on the family farm on Sweetmans Lane in western Monmouth County, moving to Bordentown in 1958. Mrs. McCarthy was a teacher in the Shrewsbury and Freehold school districts. She was a 1933 graduate of Douglass College, Rutgers University, New Brunswick. She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Bordentown, and St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, Freehold. Mrs. McCarthy-Sexton was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Sexton, in 1986, and two brothers, Robert McCarthy and Thomas McCarthy. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kim Sexton, and two grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, followed by burial in the parish cemetery, Freehold Township. The Huber-Moore Funeral Home, Bordentown, was in charge of arrangements.

John V. Jones

Mr. Jones, 76, of Upper Freehold Township, died Oct. 31 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Paterson, he had lived in Sea Girt, Brielle and Allenwood before moving to Upper Freehold Township, where he realized his dream of building a farm. Mr. Jones retired from the Brielle Police Department, where he had attained the rank of sergeant. He also was a taxidermist and tree surgeon. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan G. Jones; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Anonjlak Jones of Feasterville, Pa.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Daniel DeSoucey of Ocean Township; and six grandchildren. Funeral services were private, under the direction of Funeral Services of New Jersey. William F. Mattson

Mr. Mattson, 76, of Freehold Township, died Oct. 28 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Philadelphia, he had lived in Somerset before moving to Freehold Township 36 years ago. A retired Freehold Township code enforcement official, he was a member of the Excelsior Lodge Free and Accepted Masons, Philadelphia; the Crescent Temple Shrine; the East Freehold Fire Co., Monmouth County Fire Police and Monmouth County Fire Prevention Association; and the Lake Topanemus Commission. Surviving are his wife, Helen; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas and Julie Mattson, of Wall Township, and Glen Mattson, of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; a brother, Calvin Mattson, of Mount Laurel; a sister, Evelyn Sprague, of Browns Mills; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Higgins Memorial Home, Freehold, with the Rev. Harvey P. Kelley officiating. Brian Zlotkin

Mr. Zlotkin, 50, of Freehold, died Oct. 27 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Long Branch, he had lived in Freehold and New York City before moving back to Freehold two years ago. Mr. Zlotkin was a self-employed psychologist for more than 20 years, with a practice in New York City and in Freehold. He received his doctorate in psychology from the New School, New York City. He was predeceased by his father, Isadore Zlotkin, in 1989. Mr. Zlotkin is survived by his mother, Harriet Zlotkin of Freehold; a brother, Jacob Zlotkin of Freehold; a sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and Charles Tobias of Potomac, Md.; one niece and one nephew. A graveside service was held at the Freehold Hebrew Benefit Society Cemetery, Freehold Township. The Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, was in charge of arrangements.
