Emergency responders practice extricating a victim from a vehicle Emergency responders practice extricating a victim from a vehicle SHREWSBURY – The Shrewsbury Borough Office of Emergency Management held a multi-department drill Oct. 14. The exercise was designed to test the abilities of the borough’s emergency services while responding to a multiple vehicle accident requiring extrication while handling a separate hazardous materials release and fire. The exercise took take place on Sycamore Avenue near the Conrail railroad tracks. Sycamore Avenue was closed to all traffic between Highway 35 and Shrewsbury Avenue for approximately three hours.

The participating agencies included the following departments from Shrewsbury Borough: OEM, fire, police, EMS, CERT and DPW and mutual aid fire department responders from Little Silver.
