Community Bulletin Board Volunteers sought for new hotline for youth

180, Turning Lives Around, Hazlet, is seeking mature, calm and responsible individuals to help staff a new hotline for youth. Training will begin the week of Jan. 12, and shifts will run from 1-5 p.m. and 5-9 p.m.

Volunteers will receive 40 hours of training, and will answer calls for eight to 12 hours per month. Previous experience in crisis intervention teams or church work will be helpful. Other programs run by 180 include the Amanda’s Easel art therapy program, an emergency shelter support program, and a school-based abuse prevention program.

Area resident featured in Christmas concert Dec. 6

The Reformed Church of Tinton Falls, 62 Hance Ave., will present a concert by Middletown resident Nancy Scharff Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m. There is no admission fee; a free-will offering will be taken.

Joining Scharff will be the King of Kings Praise Singers with Justin Rugg on drums, and Bob Marriner on bass. Scharff will perform original Christmas songs as well as classics.
