Six Flags to hold food drive to aid homeless pets

The Popcorn Park Zoo in Forked River and Six Flags Great Adventure, Route 537 in Jackson, have joined together for a "Winter Lights" and Thanksgiving event to help feed some homeless pets in the area.

A canned food drive will take place during Six Flags’ Winter Lights event, a drive-through light show and holiday village at the park. From Nov. 14-21, visitors to the event will receive up to a $5 discount per carload when donating cans of pet food. Each canned item will have a value of one dollar off a carload admission. Foundation’s ‘Celebration for Education’ Nov. 14

The Rumson Education Foundation will hold its annual fund-raiser "Celebration for Education" Nov. 14 from 8 p.m. to midnight at Branches, 123 Monmouth Road, West Long Branch. Proceeds will benefit the foundation.

The event will feature silent and live auctions, a 50/50 raffle, hors d’oeuvres, carving stations, and entertainment by the Average Thom White Band.
