The Monmouth Symphony Orchestra will open its 55th season on Oct. 26 at the Count Basie Theatre, 99 Monmouth St., Red Bank. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. with selections from Mozart’s "Sinphonia Concertante for Winds," MacDowell’s Suite No. 2, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s "Russian Easter Overture." Featured artists will be soloists of the Red Bank Chamber Music Society. Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors age 60 and over, $5 for college students, and free for youths ages 6-18 when accompanied by an adult. New Jersey Repertory Company in Long Branch will launch "Underground Rep," a series of cabaret nights, Nov. 12. The new format , which will feature both musical and comedy cabarets, will showcase many of the company’s talented members in a different show each month.
The first "Underground Rep" cabaret will feature original sketch comedy by New York City’s outrageously funny 10:17 Comedy and NJ Rep’s award-winning resident playwright Mike Folie. Performances will be 7 and 9 p.m. Nov. 12.
The second, musical, cabaret will present company members in an evening of song at 7 and 9 p.m. Dec. 3.

"Holiday Harmonies" will be presented in downtown Red Bank each Saturday beginning Nov. 29 through Dec. 20 at various locations throughout the shopping district. The Freedom Film Society will sponsor a Halloween event Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. at Harry’s Roadhouse, 662 Cookman Ave. in Asbury Park.
Red Bank-based FFS will present an evening of Halloween traditions, featuring the 1959 cult classic film "A Bucket of Blood." Horror film director Warren Disbrow’s personal collection of horror film memorabilia will be on display to the delight and fright of the audience. Attendees are encouraged to arrive in costume. Admission is $10 at the door.

"Saturation," a solo exhibit of works by nontraditional artist Joyce Anastasia Urbanski, Holmdel painter, printmaker and sculptor, will open Nov. 14 at Gallery 800, at Monmouth University in West Long Branch.
The exhibit is a series of monochromatic still life portraits finished in a traditional representational manner then layered with glaze, creating a saturated effect by the dominant color. While large pieces dominate, the exhibit also includes a series of smaller studies in charcoal and a print series. An opening reception will be held Nov. 14 7-9 p.m.
