The first New Jersey Wild Outdoor Expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25- 26 at the Assunpink Wildlife Management Area, Upper Freehold Township.
Volunteers are needed to offer hands-on instruction (fishing, camping, kayaking, etc.), offer visitor and information services, and to help with logistics (set-up/breakdown, parking).
The expo is a free event designed for visitors to discover ways to appreciate and enjoy the outdoors. It seeks to help people connect with the natural world by providing a unique blend of conservation information, education and hands-on opportunities to learn outdoor skills and activities. Visitors can learn about and try a wide array of activities, including fishing, hiking, shooting sports, kayaking, rock climbing, camping, wildlife watching and much more.
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Divisions of Fish and Wildlife and the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey are hosting the event.
