Basketball game to support 2-year-old

A basketball fundraiser for Ryan Hansen, featuring Sayrewoods South baseball coaches vs. Cougar football coaches of Old Bridge, is scheduled for March 23 in the gym at St. Bernadette’s Church, corner of Princeton and Villanova roads, Parlin section of Old Bridge. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The game is set for 7:30 p.m.

Ryan, the 2-year-old son of Michele and Chris Hansen of Old Bridge, has already undergone three brain surgeries to treat an aneurism. After being found unresponsive on the morning of Jan. 27, Ryan was rushed to the hospital by his parents. The Hansens were told their son had bleeding on the brain and needed to be airlifted to Philadelphia Children’s Hospital for emergency brain surgeries to treat a large blood clot.

Proceeds from the game will help offset the Hansens’ mounting medical and related expenses and assist them in providing care for Ryan, who faces a long road to recovery.

Admission is free of charge. Food and gift baskets will be offered for sale. Raffles, a tricky tray and 50/50s will take place throughout the evening.
