SAYREVILLE — The borough and Board of Education are moving ahead with sharing services.
The board and the Borough Council have agreed to share the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) program.
The computer program is required by the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
OSHA requires that all employers have access to the system which gives specific information and emergency treatment on various chemicals.
The council has already approved the MSDS agreement. The board will likely vote on the proposal at Tuesday’s meeting.
The two have been exploring shared services for some time now. The board and council are also expected to hire an outside firm to conduct a feasibility study on various options for shared services.
The firm, when hired, is expected to charge $1,000 for the study. Half of the cost will be paid for by the borough, while the other half will be paid for by the board, board President Kevin Ciak said.
