Bank supports S. Amboy library

SOUTH AMBOY — The Amboy Foundation recently presented a $1,000 check to the Dowdell Library Foundation to support the Sadie Pope Dowdell Public Library, Governor Hoffman Plaza.

The check was presented by Joseph Mullane, vice president of Amboy Bank.

The Amboy Foundation’s contribution will be used toward purchasing an online software teaching center for the library that will provide coaching for students from elementary to high school, as well as college preparation courses for SAT, AP and graduate school exams. Adult programs will include computer skills, GED preparation, job search and workplace skills, and U.S. citizenship tutorials.

“The Amboy Foundation’s generous gift will provide lifelong learning opportunities to the South Amboy community. We are very grateful to Amboy Bank and its foundation for their support,” said Mimi Pichey, president of the Dowdell Library Foundation, a nonprofit group.
