Mr. Droz, 84, of Old Bridge, died May 14, 2010, at the Center of Hope Hospice, Scotch Plains. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he had recently relocated to Old Bridge. Mr. Droz was a police officer with the New York City Police Department, retiring in 1974, and later was a New York City fire marshal. He was a member of the Old Bridge Senior Center. He was predeceased by is wife of 49 years, Joan Kelly Droz, in 1999; and two brothers, Julius and Joseph Droz. Surviving are four daughters, Patricia Droz of Colonia, Joan and her husband Thomas Abitabile of Old Bridge, Kathleen and her husband Alfred Spinelli of Cranford, and Jeanne and her husband Robert Cleary of Fanwood; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was offered at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River. The Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, Old Bridge, was in charge of arrangements.
