U.F. Recreation to offer golf, tennis lessons for ages 8-16, adults

Upper Freehold Township Recreation will offer introductory golf lessons for ages 8-16 and adults.

Two sessions will be offered: April 19-May 5 and May 17-June 2. All classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays for each three-week session, for a total of six classes.

Ages 8-12 will meet April 19-May 5 from 5-6 p.m., and ages 12-16 will meet May 17-June 2 from 5-6 p.m.

Both sessions of adult lessons will meet from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Bill Marine, a PGA professional, will conduct the lessons at Cream Ridge Golf Club, Upper Freehold. If necessary, equipment can be provided by Cream Ridge Golf Club, based on availability.

The cost is $90 per session for youths and $95 per session for adults.

The recreation department will also offer beginner tennis lessons at Byron Johnson Park for youth and adults. The 10-week program will run April 13-June 17 — 5-6 p.m. for ages 6-8, 4-5 p.m. for ages 9-12, and 3-4 p.m. for ages 13-16. Youth lessons will be offered at the participant’s choice of Thursday or Friday; adults have a choice of Wednesdays at 11 a.m. or Thursdays at 6 p.m. Ho Scott, a PTP-certified instructor, will conduct the sessions.

The cost is $105 for youths and $115 for adults.
