Harlem Wizards to take
on local basketball ‘stars’
The Allentown/Upper Freehold Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism & Drug Abuse is sponsoring a visit from the Harlem Wizards professional basketball team April 9.
The team performs trick hoops, alley-oops, and a student-participation halftime show.
The Wizards will take on the local “squad of stars” — school and community members as well as elected officials — at 7 p.m. April 9 at Allentown High School, High Street. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Refreshments and souvenirs will be available for sale.

Designer Karen Fisher
to speak at garden lecture
The annual Two Rivers Antiques Show and Garden Tour will feature a guest lecture by Karen Fisher of the New York City-based design company Designer Previews. The 2005 Garden Lecture and Luncheon will be held April 21 at the Shadowbrook, Shrewsbury. Tickets are $40.
Fisher is known as an editor, professor, author and president of a company that created a new business model in the design world. She represents the world’s top designers and architects, and is also known for selecting young designers who go on to become world famous. She was inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 1996.
The lecture will kick off the Two Rivers Antiques Show and Garden Tour’s main event, June 10-12, in Red Bank. The Red Bank Armory and Ice Complex will host the two-day event. Proceeds from both the April lecture and the two-day June event will go to the Jacqueline M. Wilentz Comprehensive Breast Center at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch.
