Learn how to attract birds to a home garden

On Thursday, May 24, Barbara Jones will present “Feeding a Crowd: How to Attract Birds to Your Garden” at the Allentown Garden Club’s May meeting. Jones and her husband, Cliff, own the Wild Bird Center in Marlton. She has also been affiliated with the Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge for many years.

She is a specialist in establishing and conserving bird habitats and enhancing backyard enjoyment of birds and other wildlife. The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the Allentown Methodist Church on Church Street. The public is invited to attend.

SRF needs boarding facilities in New Jersey

The Standardbred Retirement Foundation, Freehold, is looking for affordable boarding facilities in New Jersey. A nonprofit organization, SRF has made over 2,000 adoptions and currently supports and manages more than 120 horses, both useful and companion animals, the majority of which are in boarding facilities along the East Coast. The foundation is looking for caring, dedicated horse lovers who will assist the group by providing affordable, temporary or long-term board for one or more of its horses.
