SAYREVILLE — The Borough Council recently approved two resolutions authorizing an interlocal agreement with Middlesex County for road improvements.
According to Borough Business Administrator Alex Previdi, some 17 roads throughout the borough will be milled and repaved. Borough Chief Financial Officer Wayne Kronowski said it will cost approximately $400,000 to improve these streets through the interlocal agreement with the county.
Several roads, such as Bissett Street, Furman Avenue, Nickel Avenue and Winkler Avenue, will see some improvements, while eight other streets will have their entire surfaces milled and repaved. Those eight streets are Ann Terrace, Evelyn Terrace, Hillside Avenue, Ida Street, Keegan Place, Miller Avenue, Orchard Street and Stephen Avenue.
Four streets in the neighborhood where Truman Elementary School is located will be repaired as well. These four roads are Roosevelt Boulevard, Stevenson Street, Adams Place and Harding Avenue.
As part of the interlocal agreement with the county, the parking lot at the Morgan First Aid Squad will also be repaved.
Currently, the date when the repairs will begin remains to be determined, Previdi said.
