The stages are set and the lights are beginning to dim at the Freehold Regional High School District schools as the fall productions get underway.
Howell High School students will perform Neil Simon’s “Lost in Yonkers.” After the death of their mother, two young brothers are sent to stay with their formidable grandmother for the longest 10 months of their lives. Performances will be held on Nov 11, Nov. 12, Nov. 13 and Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Howell High School auditorium, Squankum-Yellowbrook Road. Tickets for “Lost in Yonkers” are $10.
Colts Neck High School students will take to the stage in “A Family Reunion to Die For.” It is time for the Knotting family reunion and newlywed Christine Franklin is eager to show off her husband Freddie to the family she has not seen in years.
The joyful reunion quickly turns sour when Aunt Gretchen, Cousin Rachel and Cousin Stefan are all murdered. The members of the Knotting family are dropping like flies and Christine seems to be next in line to become a victim.
Performances will take place on Nov. 19-20 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Colts Neck High School auditorium, Route 537 and Five Points Road. Tickets are $10.
Freehold Township High School students will present “You Can’t Take it With You.” An eccentric family allows each member to pursue his own ambition in the home, but their routine is disrupted when a daughter with a regular job wants to bring her fiancé and his Wall Street family to dinner in George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy.
Performances will be held on Nov. 12, Nov. 13 and Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. A matinee performance will be held on Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. in the Freehold Township High School auditorium, Elton-Adelphia Road. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students.
Freehold High School students will present “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Outside the great Notre Dame cathedral, a troupe of youthful players leads the rabble of Paris in recreating the riotous adventures of the misshapen, but tender-hearted bell ringer Quasimodo. Performances will take place on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Freehold High School auditorium, Broadway and Robertsville Road, Freehold Borough. Tickets are $10.
Manalapan High School students will perform “Fahrenheit 451.” Performances will be held on Nov. 20-21 at 7 p.m. There will be matinee performances on Nov. 21- 22 at 2 p.m. in the Manalapan High School auditorium, Church Lane. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $5 for seniors, students and children.
Marlboro High School students will hit the stage in “Rumors.” At a large townhouse, the deputy mayor of New York has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are about to experience a severe attack of farce. Performances will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3 and 7 p.m. Dec. 4-5 in the Marlboro High School auditorium, Route 79. Tickets are $10.
